U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Mexico will be exempt from tariffs on goods covered by the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement until April 2.
Mexico will not have to pay fees for items covered by the USMCA Agreement, as agreed upon with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico, according to a statement by Trump on Truth Social.
The Republican president proceeded with the release by expressing gratitude to President Sheinbaum for his dedication and collaboration.
Trump urges Apple to end diversity policies.
U.S. President Donald Trump urged Apple to stop its efforts towards diversity, equity, and inclusion, known as DEIs, as part of his campaign against such policies in workplaces.
Apple should be free from the rules of Deus, do not adjust them, Trump posted on his social media platform on Wednesday (26).
Apple investors recently declined a proposal to remove their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. CEO Tim Cook mentioned that the company hasn’t implemented quotas or hiring objectives but is open to making changes to the program. This decision was made during the company’s annual meeting.
Apple did not provide an immediate response to a request for comment.
Trump has condemned DEI’s policies for being discriminatory, claiming that they undermine contract awards based on merit. He used this rationale to support his significant actions to reduce the federal workforce and terminate agency initiatives.
Critics argue that removing DEI policies will impede the progress of women and minorities in the workforce.
US companies started to focus more on their individual efforts after Trump’s actions against DEI, with Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser reportedly abandoning the company’s DEI objectives due to Trump’s executive order prohibiting certain DEI policies.
