Prio (PRIO3) declares a capital increase of R$ 2.8 billion.
Prio (PRIO3) approved a capital increase of R$ 2.8 billion for its Board of Directors by utilizing its investment reserve funds.
The capital increase aims to make it easier to fund projects for the Wahoo field, such as drilling four producing wells and two injectors, and connecting a 30-kilometer pipeline to the FPSO Great platform.
Prio aims to enhance its financial situation through this initiative, bolstering its cash reserves, particularly in light of the commitments resulting from its recent investment in the BM-C-7 and BM-C-47 exploration blocks.
The company mentioned that the increase in capital will enable funding for future growth opportunities, such as projects and initiatives to create value for shareholders, as reported by “Valor.”
The social capital of Prio will increase from R$ 10.9 billion to R$ 13.7 billion through this process. This increase will not involve distributing new shares to shareholders or changing the current number of shares, as there will be no new funds entering the company.
